Peak Into Resilience

(noun) / rɪˈzɪliəns/

Resilience

Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover, and maintain well-being in the face of adversity, challenges, or significant changes in life. It involves the capacity to bounce back from setbacks, learn from difficult experiences, and continue moving forward with determination and flexibility. Resilience is a dynamic quality that can be developed and strengthened over time through self-awareness, adaptive strategies, committed practice, and guidance from mentors.

Mission

At Peak Into Resilience, our mission is clear: to deliver impactful mental health treatment through adventure therapy activities, fostering resilience and well-being in individuals, families, and communities. Our goal is to expand access to mental health care by offering evidence-based treatment plans that challenge traditional therapy norms while upholding ethical and inclusive practices that ensure each clients feels welcomed and valued in our approach to healing.

Reverence for a
Shared Playground

Here in Central Oregon, we acknowledge the Confederate Tribes of Warm Springs, which includes the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Paiute Native American Tribes. We recognize the intergenerational strength and inherent resiliency of the indigenous communities of this land and how this continues to be passed to each generation today. We pay respects to the members and elders of these communities, past and present, who always have been and remain stewards, caretakers, and advocates of these forested lands, river systems, and desert plains.

Building resilience starts with trust.

unconventional therapy for unique people

Our Approach

Peak Into Resilience believes in a humanistic approach to the therapy experience that meets our clients where they are physically, mentally, emotionally, and intellectually, ensuring that their adventure is a reflection of their aspirations and abilities. With a foundation of unconditional positive regard, we foster an environment of non-judgmental acceptance and support. Our collaborative and non-hierarchical learning format encourages clients to actively engage, voice their ideas, and co-create their treatment plan alongside their therapist. Every step of the way, we prioritize our clients’ growth, well-being, and self-discovery.

We wholeheartedly embrace equity and inclusion as core principles to our approach. We recognize and celebrate the uniqueness of individuals from all walks of life while recognizing how our own power, privilege, and difference continues to influence the landscape of ongoing oppression. Our efforts are built into our adventure programming each step of the way, not simply just at intake. It is our unwavering commitment to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and valued throughout the entire guided experience. Furthermore, we pledge to never use a client’s minority identification to enhance our public image or promote our organization.

As mental health guides, we hold psychological safety as paramount in all our interactions and activities. We approach our clients with openness and curiosity, refraining from making assumptions about their goals, intentions, or feelings. Instead, we cultivate a culture of open communication, encouraging clients to share their perspectives and concerns without fear of judgment. Regularly checking in with our clients, we gauge their comfort and tolerance during activities, ensuring they feel safe and supported throughout their journey. We are especially attuned to minority identities who have experienced exclusion from outdoor recreation due to psychological risks such as discrimination, oppression, prejudice, and/or micro-aggressions. Through open dialogue and thoughtful adjustments, we aim to create an environment where everyone can thrive.

As outdoor enthusiasts and guides, we hold a deep reverence for the natural world. We understand the importance of preserving our environment for future generations to enjoy. Emphasizing Leave No Trace principles, we minimize our impact on the pristine landscapes we explore. Our guides are certified experts in environmental stewardship, ensuring our adventures are conducted with the utmost care and respect for the ecosystems we encounter.

Since this is a Virgo operation after all (Sarah is a Virgo), our commitment to deliver a seamless and secure service is woven into every detail. Our therapists diligently organize each day, ensuring our clients can focus on the adventure ahead, free of unnecessary worries. We respect our clients’ time and commitment, valuing punctuality and reliability as a testament to our dedication to delivering exceptional service. And because we’re human, we sometimes make mistakes that require adaptability from everyone. Thank you for being human with us.
